Ficus trees are of a tropical origin and do not take to cold temperatures, especially a Minnesota winter. Many times if they are subjected to temperatures lower than 50 degrees, they will drop their leaves. And just for your info, there are many bonsai that are of the indoor variety, and the ficus is one of them. You can keep it outside when it is warm, but if the nights get much colder than the 50 degree mark, I would shuttle it into the house. You can keep it inside through the winter as long as it gets ample light and is watered on a regular basis. Hope this answers your question... good luck ...Billy Ray |
