I want to grow a bonsai tree all by myself?
i dont want to buy a tree because where i live there arent many places that sell bonsai, and i dont really like how the bonsai for sale are looking and i want another tree altogether anyway, i want to start it alone i read a bit on the internet and if i m not mistaken i need a part of a tree to start a bonsai, or am i wrong?i have in my garden a pear, avocado, tangerine, orange, pecan, guava, apple, loquat and lemon trees and some others that i dont remember and dont really consider using.i think the pear, avocado and loquat are the best looking trees so i want to use one of them, or maybe all of them.i know from my experience with gardening which is not alot that befor i put something in the soil i need to put it in water until it starts to grow roots, but i might be mistaken.i really really want to do this on my own without buying nothing but what i need to grow my trees.if you can tell me what i need to do and wat pot and soil i need to use that would be great and i would really appreciate it.please dont tell me its too hard and too much work for a beginner, i have so many trees i cant start over again and again until i can have a living beautiful tree.thank you
Im interested in growing a bonsai tree and i have a few questions that i cant find answers to. Pleas help?
Okay any advice here is completely accepted that being said.......1. I have recently found an interest in bonsai. I have watched a lot of videos and read a lot of articles but none have answered these questions. I went out and clipped a branch of af a crepe myrtle tree very pretty when in bloom i figured i could grow roots on it by setting it in water for a few weeks. Will this work? and if not how can i make this plan to where it does work? 2. Where can i get supplies for this project I live in Irving Texas just north of Dallas Supplies like the pot the soil some of the wire mesh and wire. I don't have a credit card so i can't order online.3. Are Crepe Myrtles indoor or outdoor trees, how often should they be watered and what ind of climate do they originate from. To be frank, where do they originate from. 4. And last but not least. I wish to tap into you creative side. I have to little branches of it i was thinking i might be able to at some train them to twist around each other is this or is this not a good idea if not what should i do with them? For all you help thank you in advance.also any tips you could give me would be greatly appreciated

How much maintenance is required with a bonsai tree?
I want to take up bonsai as a hobby, and I know that there is alot of maintenance involved. Pruning of the branches, leaves, trunk and roots are essential. I don't mind all this but would like to ask about the roots. How often would I need to prune the roots and or re pot the tree? Does this vary for different types of bonsai species?
How to take care of a small Bonsai tree?
Ok before i explain i do not want a link showing how to plant one. My friend just came back from Japan and he got me a Bonsai tree. The whole box was just this small cup with a hole on the bottom, a saucer that the cup goes on, a metallic thingy to hold the soil from going through the hole, about more then 10 seeds and a small bag of rocks and soil. Now, i want to know how to plant these seeds and im guessing i put water on the saucer so it can seep through the hole on the bottom of the cup without it seeping out, but i watched videos of people watering them from the top. It says Karomatu on the instructions next to a picture of the tree im guessing, but that is the only thing in english. So basically i want to know a couple things1 Should i germenate the seeds or should i just put them in2 Where should i put the seeds. Such as on top, the bottom or the middle of the soil?3 Does this bonsai tree need a lot of light?4 How often do i water it. And do i water it from the top, or do i just let it soak from the bottom or both?5 How many seeds should i plant? People usually plant 2 at a time and take the smaller one out so i guess i will just save the seeds?6 should i repot it anytime after i plant it?7 This may bea stupid question but i heard that some Bonsai trees will sprout blossoms like cherry blossoms during spring. Is this true? And is their a certain season i should plant this in?and finally, 8 should i leave this outside or on my windowsill in my bedroom?Thank you very much I discovered that it is a black pine Bonsai tree. Yes i did get the seeds, not the tree itself. How do i take care of one of these?

Is my Ficus Retusa bonsai tree dying? How can I stop it?
I've have my Ficus Retusa tree for just over a year. When I first got it in November 2008, I kept it on a window ledge, inside. I fed it every other day, then the leaves turned yellow and started to drop off. So I only fed it once a week, and it was fine.Recently, I moved to university, and kept the same feeding routine, and it was fine. Then 2 weeks ago early January , I came back from a weekend away, and found that 17 leaves had dropped off. I thought it could have been the cold from the window ledge getting it, so I moved it to my desk. I went away for a weekend again, and I've just come back, and ALL the leaves have fallen off. I don't know what to do I need to revive it Please help
